The Copycat Kitchen
Restaurant favorites, made at home — 1,600+ copycat recipes.
Overview
A recipe platform built around an AI content pipeline that researches, drafts, tests, and structures copycat restaurant recipes, with full schema markup and a search experience tuned for long-tail intent.
The Copycat Kitchen runs on a generation-and-review pipeline rather than a content farm. Recipes are drafted from real menu and ingredient research, structured into Recipe schema, and checked for the details that actually matter to a cook — ratios, temperatures, timing, and substitutions.
Search is the product. Browsing is organized by restaurant, category, protein, cuisine, and occasion, so the site captures the enormous long tail of "how do I make X at home" queries.
Ratings, cook times, and serving data are all first-class fields, which means they show up in rich results instead of being buried in prose.
Where the effort went
The interesting part of The Copycat Kitchen was never the page templates. It was recipes published at 1,600+, and getting the underlying model right so the product stays correct as it grows. That is the part we care about, and it is the part that determines whether something like this is still useful in a year.
It runs on infrastructure the owner controls — source in GitHub, deployment on Railway, DNS and CDN on Cloudflare — with no proprietary platform in the middle.
